About

The race to mitigate climate change is on – a global and wildly diverse movement, creating countless opportunities for us all to act.

Decarbonizing the global economy and protecting the planet is the challenge of our time.

Our work today will shape the lives of future generations, the resilience of threatened species and ecosystems, and the fabric of our communities, culture and society. The response to this challenge is already unprecedented – a mobilization of creativity, human energy and financial resources for a common cause unlike anything before in human history. As climate change’s influence on our lives grows steadily, creating new opportunities, new thinking and new industries, we all have a role to play. Invested in Climate aims to help people find opportunities for positive impact through their work, investments, learning, lifestyle and activism.

My name is Jason Rissman.

I launched Invested in Climate to share the conversations fueling my optimism and commitment to climate action.

I’ve worked on climate change efforts for over 20 years — from startups, to Google, IDEO, NationSwell, and now more startups. Way back when, I got my start in entrepreneurship by running a hot dog stand, eating two hot dogs a day for an entire summer. (I now wish they were plant-based.)

Send feedback and ideas, and get in touch through our contact page or on LinkedIn.

My name is Julie Mai.

As Head of Communications & Marketing at Invested in Climate, I lead strategy and execution to spotlight climate solutions capable of addressing one of the greatest collective challenges of our time.

For over a decade, my work has centered on social impact and systems change across a range of issues, including human rights, education, public health, criminal justice reform, homelessness, food insecurity, economic empowerment, racial justice, and climate.

I serve as an international impact and sustainability strategist, and I’m a Founding Board Member of Intersectional Environmentalist, a climate justice collective reimagining an equitable, inclusive future for environmentalism.
